If you've started out with a minimal hosting plan and are ready to upgrade or you find that you require additional services to enhance you're existing web site - you've come to the right place! Here you will find basic explanations of the most common 'add-ons' that we are regularly asked to implement for our clients.

Incorporating one or more of these products into your web site may enhance its functionality, navigation or professionalism. For minimal cost we can assist you to create a wonderfully interactive and user-friendly web site.

All of the webshop domain hosting packages include email addresses. You may find however that you require more than the allocated number of mailboxes in order to manage your web site's email needs. We can add additional email accounts to your hosting package for a small additional yearly fee.

Additional Email Account .................... $55 per year (GST Inclusive)

If you are hosting your domain with us as a virtual or mini domain you may find this service useful. With both these domain packages you do NOT get an email server incorporated in the cost. Therefore you would have your own designated email address - eg you@omcs.com.au - and we would then set up an email alias - eg you@yourdomain.com.au - which forwards to your email address. This allows you to use your own domain name as your email address without the additional cost of having your own email server.

Or in simple terms:

Bob has a web site called www.bobstyres.com which is hosted on a webshop mini domain package. Bob wants to print business cards using an email address @bobstyres.com so that his web site is promoted. We set up an alias called bob@bobstyres.com. This forwards to Bob's real email address - bob@omcs.com.au - without www.bobstyres.com requiring its own email server.

We can add an additional record to our DNS to suit your individual needs. This service can be used for several reasons. You may want to add a DNS record so that visitors to your site will see your home page if they type in www.yoursite.com - or forget the www and only type in yoursite.com. Alternatively we can add a record so that by typing in www2.yoursite.com a completely different site would appear for only specific customers or as an internal web site. Add Record to DNS ............................... $104.50 (GST Inclusive)

If losing the data contained on your web site would be a disaster you should consider backing up your web site. We'll save a copy of your entire site to disk or to CD. This copy will be available to you from our office should you require a backup copy of the site. Alternatively we can backup the site and provide you with a copy on CD.

An email auto-responder is a fantastic business tool. It allows an automatic response to be sent back to the person who sends email to a specific email address. It works very simply. Here's an example of how this service can work for you -

You have a part of your web site that says that a potential client can receive a copy of your prices if they email prices@yourdomain.com. When a potential client send email to prices@yourdomain.com they are automatically sent back a list of prices with a promise that a representative will contact them directly within 24 hours. You still receive the email in the normal manner but the customer has received an immediate response. That's great customer service!

We will add your specified text file to the auto-responder on a single email address for this once only price. The content of this may be changed at any time free of charge.

An email list server allows you to manage and modify a group email to all those who subscribe to your list. This will enable you to send out regular mailings or create discussion groups among the visitors to your site.

Setting up a list server for your site is a great way to establish a relationship with your clients and keep their business. Catalogs, info sheets and product updates can be sent using this service with the knowledge that only those people who CHOOSE to receive your mail will do so.

An email server allows you to administer and maintain your own email accounts as part of your domain. This incorporates an unlimited number of email addresses @yourdomain.com and the ability to remotely administer the program via a web browser. This gives you the freedom to add/delete/maintain/forward any number of email accounts without needing to speak to a webshop consultant.

Email Server added to your site ............. $220 +$53.90 setup (GST Inclusive)

Each FTP account allows access to uploading and downloading of files to your site. While each domain package comes with at least one FTP account you may find that you require more than your allocated number in order to maintain your site and allow access to all applicable persons. Additional FTP accounts can be set up within a few minutes of authorisation.

Additional FTP Account ........................... $55 (GST Inclusive)

An FTP (or File Transfer Protocol) server allows file uploads and downloads to your site. This may help you to manage and maintain files on your site and offer customers the ability to send and receive data directly through your FTP server.

A direct file server may improve the speed of your web site as customer's will be directly downloading from your file server instead of via the web site.
